Also how do they lose money in the end when the album will end up on all services at some point? There are few albums that are completely exclusive to one service.
If this continues, as you say it's very easy to switch, then Spotify will eventually not be able to hold on. If they run Spotify out of business with all these timed exclusives and possibly just exclusives, then Apple can essentially monopolize the streaming industry.
I mean that's the point of timed exclusives; to get people to switch to their service. Those are what lose money. Apple has already started getting flat out exclusives, and I'm sure they will continue to try and get those.
You're complaining about a company trying to make money which is the entire goal of business. Spotify has to step its shit up then to compete.
Bruh why are you defending anti-consumer practices, that's not just business, that's monopolizing.
It doesn't help anybody including you or I. There are much better ways of making money, but forcing other companies out of the business hurts us all.
Or they get suckers like me who pay for both spotify and apple music. I like spotify, but drake is my favorite and of course he has that deal with apple.
Not a big deal for me at least, because I have a. I still gotta wait over here in the U. Okay, I see it's available in the U. I've been seeing good things about this album, let me see for myself.
At least give us this, it's heartbreaking seeing all these stacked festivals come up on HHH and seeing they're US only.
Getting the albums first is the only thing we can celebrate: I'm American and I agree. Also it's a fucking Clams Casino album Not exactly groundbreaking material altho he is good.
When it's available in America of course! The beat on 'All Night' is crazy. Vince comes through with the vibes. Love how we get instrumentals at the end of the album.
It helps you appreciate the work on both ends.. The album has a lot of different mediums. A very unique listen. Witness is unbelievable, Lil B really showing what he can do over the beats by his partner in crime.
And i agree with the other comment, tracks are just great. The second half of this album is incredible. I was wondering what the other features would do and what direction the beats were gonna take, but god its all so good.
Blast throws me back to when Clams' beats were a little too loud, under engineered, but crazy epic and melodic read: Love that shit so much.
The song with Kelly Zutrau also blew me away, the rest of the album was pretty consistently dope too tho.
Personally, this is all I wished for with this album. Thank you clams for the blessing. I expected more than a super high pitched, almost unrecognizable vocal sample.
What a wasted opportunity. How is this not available on Spotify in the US yet?! This is starting to happen every Friday now. The Avalanches album still isn't available.
I'm seriously considering switching. Would you guys recommend Apple Music even if I'm on an Android phone? The spotify app is listing 5 songs when I click that link, which is what was available earlier today.
Spotify has claimed ages ago they'll never bargain for any sort of exclusives. So yeah until they change their philosophy Apple is going to get most of the releases ahead of time.
Where can I listen to the album? I'm serious, the iTunes link in the OP doesn't let me actually listen to the songs, it's not on Spotify and I can only listen to like 4 songs on Apple Music.
I'm thinking of just pirating it at this point because it's such a hassle. I'm in the UK if that helps. I thought the hip-hop songs were gonna be my fav after hearing Witness, but honestly the later tracks with the alternative rnb electronic shit had me groovin.
I really wanted "Worth It" to be on this album, but I'm digging this. I'm pretty sure I've liked everything that Clams Casino has put out that I've heard, at least.
Man I don't know any of the people he featured in the one string of like 5 songs but they all sounded great. I wrote some initial thoughts here: I'm seeing him tonight, what are his performances like?
Does he drop the vocals or just his instrumentals? His performance last night was dope, he drops the instrumentals and then boom, vocals.
By far one of my favorite shows. A bucket of bangers hold the mash. This ones gonna get a few re-listens that's for sure. The second half is wildly different from the 1st rap bangers to ambient RnB , which might turn people off, so as a cohesive piece of work its not really all there.
Most of the songs are good in their own right, however. That's the problem I have with most producer's projects, they sound like a bunch of great songs just mashed together, like a greatest hits or a loosies zip.
The production is unmistakable, yet the featured artists always come away sounding like the main attraction. Therein also lies one of the paradoxes of the record.
The only two totally instrumental tracks on the record are also the shortest. He speaks at a low growl, oddly resembling Joy Division post-punk, piano chords ring against skittering trap beats.
Instead, it reinforces his talents with hints at how his influence might spread next. Much like his wistful beats, Clams still maintains a sense of mystery while opening himself up.
